The reading and writing leveling course is intended for students admitted to an undergraduate program at the National University of Colombia, whose entrance examination determined their enrollment in this course. Its goal is to improve their communicative, reading and writing skills in their mother tongue.
The University will automatically register these students in this class for their first term, which will be part of the minimum course load requirement as referred to in Article 10 of Agreement 008 of 2008 by the University Superior Council.
The reading and writing leveling course cannot be taken as an elective subject.
(Article 8, Resolution N° 037 of 2010)
Credits
For those students required to register for this subject, the university will assign 4 additional credits to the total number of credits required for graduation. The enrollment to this subject is mandatory.
Evaluation
The reading and writing leveling course will be evaluated from 0.0 to 5.0, with a passing grade higher than or equal to 3.0. This grade will affect the PAPA (Spanish stands for student's cumulative grade point average). This course cannot be repeated once graded, regardless of the final grade. It should be seen as a one-time opportunity given by the university.
