It is applied in order to determine the student's level of competency in English. Any student admitted to the undergraduate programs in the National University of Colombia must take this English Placement Examination before finishing their first academic term.In case an admitted student does not take the placement examination, the National University of Colombia will not be obliged to offer him/her the training courses leading to the required level of competency. In order to certify proficiency in foreign language, students who do not take the placement examination must pass the proficiency test or submit a proficiency certificate. This will be in force for students admitted after the signature of the present agreement.
This examination will be administered by the National Admissions Office.

Following the new regulations of the University, admitted students to the undergraduate programs in the National University of Colombia must:

• Be attentive to the call for taking the English Placement Test, which can be consulted on the Dirección Nacional de Admisiones Website. Students will be given notice through email about the dates the call for the test will be available.
• Attend the English Placement Test on the date and time indicated on the call.
• According to the language level demonstrated during the placement examination,each student must register after the second academic term the english levels needed for fulfilling the competencies required by the University.
